CHIP Hospitality announces new GM for The Mayfield Inn & Suites
EDMONTON, AB (July 26, 2007) – CHIP Hospitality is pleased to announce the appointment of Tim
Ostrem as the General Manager of the Mayfield Inn & Suites effective August 13, 2007.
Mr. Ostrem joins the Mayfield Inn & Suites from the Delta Edmonton South, where he served as General
Manager. Under his leadership, he delivered proven results with outstanding revenue and contribution
growth. He also greatly improved the property’s Guest Satisfaction Index, achieving top 10 ranking
in several Delta brand categories. This year his hotel was recognized at the Delta Hotels annual
conference by being awarded the top franchise hotel of the year.
“Tim brings not only valuable leadership skill, but also extensive knowledge of the Edmonton market
and vast hospitality experience to his General Manager role,” says Tony Cary-Barnard, Regional
Vice President of Operations at CHIP Hospitality. “We are delighted to have Tim lead our team
at the Mayfield Inn & Suites, and are confident that his contributions will undoubtedly be successful.”
Previously, Mr. Ostrem has held senior positions in operations, food and beverage and banquet
management at both Westin and Fairmont hotels. During his tenure with Westin, he was assigned
the national responsibilities of Director of Six Sigma, Black Belt. Six Sigma focuses on developing
strategies for prioritizing team focus and changing processes to improve key measures. He was
awarded Alberta Regional Leader of the Year with Canadian Pacific Hotels in 1996.
The Mayfield Inn & Suites. is located just a few minutes from the West Edmonton Mall, Telus Science
Centre, and the downtown core. Deluxe King rooms, Executive and Kitchenette suites, and Fireplace
Jacuzzi rooms are available, each featuring work desks, voicemail and complimentary high speed
